Transfer Boxes
The transfer box role is to transfers power from the manual or automatic transmission to the front and rear axles by means of drive/prop shafts.
These units are becoming more and more popular in modern day vehicles. Most units are chain driven and this is where we see most of the wear causing juddering and tie up issues.
Gear driven units normally found in smaller vehicles are more reliable but have their own issues such as bearing and spline wear.
We either remanufacture or offer a repair service to these units to our normal high standards.
Our most common units we build is the Land Rover LT230 range, Land Rover Freelander 2 Power Transfer Units and the BMW X3 unit but please visit our online shop to view our popular unit’s https://www.bristoltransmissionsshop.co.uk/transfer-boxes-4-c.asp
