Common Issues

The main issue with the VAG 0AM 7 speed transmission is that the mechatronic assembly fails.

Common Issues

The VAG 7 speed DQ200/0AM DSG transmission is operated by an electro-hydraulic unit known as a mechatronic.
The mechatronic operates under extreme hydraulic pressure, which makes it very prone to failure. Most symptoms occur as a result of pressure loss via the accumulator and its weak aluminium housing.

Typical associated faults are:

002A20 (P0841) Transmission fluid pressure sensor/switch A- range performance.

002A96 (P17BF) Hydraulic pump- play protection.

002A97 (P17BF) Hydraulic pump- play protection.

6079 (P17BF) Hydraulic pump false activation protection.

We can rectify these problems by replacing the mechatronic with our own remanufactured units, which include an uprated accumulator and modified rigid steel housing. All units are pressure tested on our in house test rig, and come with a 6 month warranty.

Our fitted price, including all parts, labour & oils is £1275+VAT.
